Links4Later: quick UNsocial bookmarking

Links4Later is run by the same person as Sneakemail, my favourite disposable email address solution.

Links4Later addresses the need to save a link temporarily and access it from anywhere at a later date, without worrying about sharing or tagging it (a la delicious). Oh, and get rid of the old cruft automatically.

It's a neat idea and I look forward to trying it out.

Top-secret US labs penetrated by phishers

Top-secret US labs penetrated by phishers:
"One of the most sensitive science and technology labs in the US has been hacked as part of what it called 'a sophisticated cyber attack that now appears to be part of a coordinated attempt to gain access to computer networks at numerous laboratories and other institutions across the country.'"

This technique, known as spear phishing, is on the rise - don't open email attachments you are not expecting, even from people you know. Email is easy to forge, one mistake and you could cost your company dearly.

How To Disable Automatic Download Blocking in IE7/Vista

Issue: Since moving to IE7 on Vista, I cannot download some attachments from some websites or web applications. I click the link on the website, it pops up a new window, and in the new window the File/Save dialog box does not appear. Instead, the new window just disappears. This particularly affects PeopleSoft HelpDesk version 8.

Resolution:

1. From Internet Explorer, click Tools, and then click Internet Options.
The Internet Options dialog box appears.

2. Click the Security tab.
The Internet Options dialog box shows your security levels and zones.

3. Select the relevant zone, and then click Custom Level.
The Security Settings dialog box appears.

4. Scroll down to Downloads, and then select the Enable option for Automatic prompting for file downloads.

5. Click OK

6. Click OK
