Quick update on life

Back in January I predicted that this would be one heck of a year for me personally (and indirectly, my girlfriend Dew), and now we're in July I think it's time for me to give you a quick update.

So this year I have:

• handed in my notice at work,
  
• decided to move back to the UK,
  
• worked for 4 months,
  
• took 2 months holiday,
  
• went to England for a wedding,
  
• went to Berlin for 4 days,
  
• proposed to Dew while we were there (she said "Are you serious?" before saying "Yes!"),
  
• spent a week in Kamari, Santorini (Greek island),
  
• finished at work and started at my interim place of employment,
  
• went to a wedding in Constance,
  
• planned our move back to the UK,
  
• started looking for a house, and
  
• started planning our wedding (well, Dew's been doing most of that).
  

We're back in England for another wedding in a couple of weeks and we're extending our stay there to look at places to rent in the Blackpool/Preston area. We hope to find somewhere within that week so we can move in around mid-August. We're looking for someone to take over our appartment in Germany so we can stop our rental payments by September, otherwise we're stuck paying until November. The expectation is that Dew will go back to where she worked previously (before she came to Germany) and that I'll find my next job in or around the Manchester/North West area.

Once I'm settled in my job and we've sorted out where Dew's working we'll be starting to look at buying a place of our own. The wedding is planned for July/August 2007 and more details will be available for invitees nearer the time.

Then there's the question of kids, and when we're gonna start sprogging mini-me's, but that's another post for another time... ;)
